Dual-link DVI for a 24 inch 144hz monitor

Thinking about a new 24 inch 144hz monitor, but I don't have the knowledge. Only got room on desk for 24 inch monitor.

Does the 8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080 support Dual-link DVI for a 24 inch 144hz monitor as most seem to say they need a dual-link to work at 144hz.

Can someone please explain or help me with a make(s) and model(s)(cheap price) that will work with the above Graphics Card.

Most modern monitors of that kind will have display port input with most modern high end GPUs (including that 1080) having 3 DP outputs. So just use DP.
