DPD voted best delivery service in the UK

They are by a country mile. Know Rene and Tom who deliver to our town very well and are brilliant.

It's at the point if an online store uses DPD I will use them even if they charge more than someone who uses Hermes or Yodel.

Hermes and Yodel are horrific, always had a good experience with DPD

I support like everything though it probably comes down to the local drivers in each area

yeah DPD are great I've had a couple of problems with them but they were quickly sorted, the Hermes service where I live is very good, she's always on time & friendly

I think I must be very lucky with my Hermes delivery lady
The issue i have with my Hermes guy is we have the top floor in our apartment block and all he'll do is leave it in the lobby at the bottom (which has public access during working hours) without saying anything. If he'd ring the doorbell just to say its there i wouldn't have an issue as happy to collect but instead he can be there all day with the risk that someone could just take it.

Yeah, think it does come down to the individual driver, I'm first floor in a small block, no access into the ground floor for non residents so she rings the bell, waits till she sees me coming down and only then does she leave it on the step outside

Hermes are awful, have lost three items with them and will never use now. On one they produced proof of delivery, a photo of a package by my door, problem for them was my door is not solid wood but frosted glass. Eventually got a second package sent by different courier but company I dealt with took months to get Hermes to pay up. I had even agreed to witness in court. Know about half a dozen people in my area who have had problems with Hermes.

DPD are good but not as good as they were, drivers are usually excellent but their customer service people are poor some quite rude.

Only company I have had more than 10 deliveries from and no problems is UPS, drivers really good, friendly and polite plus take more care than any of the others and as four of the deliveries were fine art copies on canvas was very relieved it was them delivering.

Hermes makes me itch.
DPD just makes me anxious.
TNT is explosive
UPS just keeps me electrified for that little bit longer.

an Amazon delivery driver just left a £60 package in the foyer of my block of flats without even trying to see if I was in...luckily that was a one-off
You would have had a good argument to have still said it hadnt been delivered.

Years ago we had a postman who seemed to suffer from dyslexia and dyscalculia, it was a total lottery where our post was delivered but was a great scheme for bringing the neighbourhood together.

A few weeks of us all redelivering to correct address on the estate and we all knew each other like old friends.

years ago i used to share a house with a postie, he got involved in drugs etc and did a disappearing act, in trying to sort out his room we found about 4 binliners under his bed full of undelivered mail, some of which had been opened

I am pretty lucky in that I have never had a major issue when any parcel delivery company be it Hermes, DPD, UPS, Royal Mail, DPD, Amazon. Only issue I have had was once an Amazon delivery driver just left a £60 package in the foyer of my block of flats without even trying to see if I was in...luckily that was a one-off.

I also live in a second floor flat with no lift and they are always happy to come up.
At one of the places where I work in a small village, old farm building down the bottom of a lane, the old boy who lives there could open his own Amazon depot that many parcels for other people get left there.
I went down just before Christmas and there were 11 parcels for 4 different people, none of them for the owner.

Same post code but there's no actual way of telling what the farm or its address is so the drivers just arrive at this postcode, I expect from the sat nav and just leave them.
Load more last week as well when I went.

Hermes... they’re just the worst. I’m always reminded of the opening scene from Ace Ventura when they deliver a package....

I've read all the horror stories about them, but I've never had any trouble receiving or sending stuff with them
