Case will be Lian-Li PC-B25F.

I understand that I'm skewed toward spending on CPU, I'll probaly look to upgrade the card probably when the 6000's push prices down, or just buy one of those. PC will be used mainly for gaming.

Yes nice spec, maybe not necessary to have the 1600mhz ram if youre not oc'ing but, wont drive price down much anyway.

Consider a tx850w psu should you want to add a second 5850 to this rig. :) Consider ditching the soundcard, onboard usually ample, especially when it comes to gaming.

The spec looks great! Consider Sleinous' PSU comment and I'd add a secondary HDD for storage - one of the WD Caviar Greens. A 300GB HDD will soon fill up if you have a few of the latest titles installed!

Thanks for your input - I was toying with the idea of an extra HD, but I was thinking I might Raid0 another Velociraptor when funds allow, which leads me on to another question actually: if you select that option on the build itself, it adds £9.00 for the Raid array; does this mean that the motherboard doesn't have RAID capability and the charge is for a controller card (which seems cheap if so) or is it a charge for actually doing the legwork, so to speak?

On the subject of Caviar Green/Black, what's the real difference? I've read that Greens power down after a few seconds of inactivity - what's the actual effect on performance as a result of that 'feature'? Is it the sort of drive you wouldn't want to install games on?
