I think this is just about what I will need but I am open to adjustments. I can't really go any higher price wise. My only doubt is the processor. Is the one I picked sensible??? Would an i5 2.5ghz be better??? Anyways, take a look, tell me what u think!!! Also will be using this for lots of cad designing, a bit of gaming, lots of media stuff inc. vid editing! And finally, the configurator says that I can have two hdd/ssd but if I only have one and say none for the second hard disk, will there be an empty bay???

As said above, there is a selection for a second hard disk, I left it as none as currently have my own ssd that I want to put in it. Will it be there but empty???

Any help would be much appreciated.

there wont be an empty bay, to use a second hard drive, PCS offer a bay that replaces the optical drive which means you can no longer read DVDs/CDs

Ok, so basically I get the choice of a DVD/CD drive or a 2nd hard disk. What do you think for the rest of the spec??? Also, what are hybrids like??? Thanks for the help - much appreciated!!!

yep thats right, and the spec looks pretty good, and as far as im aware the hybrid is a pretty good drive compared to standard laptop drives

Cheers for help!!! Debating which to sacrifice - space or DVD........ I would use the SSD and HDD combination but it is so annoying not having an optical drive. Do all the 15.6" laptops made by pcs have the h disk vs optical drive choice??? I think I may go for the seagate but 500GB may not be enough memory and I don't really want an external drive anyways, will contemplate it!!!!

yes its the same for all this size, i think the only 2 that offer 2HDDs + Optical are the 17.3" Vortex and ViperIII

The hybrid hdd is very expensive right now and really not worth it imo. If you dont need a DVD drive too much then I would recommend getting a SSD and a HDD and a USB DVD drive if you still need one. Or just get a standard HDD.
