Do PCS buy back machines?

So, I haven't been thrilled with my PCS experience so far and have been told I can't get a refund and I'm now wondering if PCS buy back machines?

If not, what is the best way of selling my PCS rig so that I can get some money back and look elsewhere?

Hi Mr Pizza :)

I think for the purposes of the forum, what has been the problem?

From general experience, I have found it hard to sell a PC, with the components more salable (ofc some arent).

Not sure what PCS would do with a used PC tbh, as they couldnt use the parts again.

Aside from that, not sure.

just out of interest how much would you sell for? and what is the problem, and what are all the other parts, ie mobo, case etc

Pretty sure PCS won't buy back machine,I think a similar question has been asked before.
Have you given them the chance to sort your problems out?

Ok so others have asked why you would want to sell such as beast. I'd be interested in buying some of the components

No problems with the system at the moment, it's currently on the way back from it's first RMA (had to have a mobo and GPU replaced). The general problms can be found in my first post here: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/2/consumerwatch/4057288/stay-away-from-pc-specialist/?pn=1

To be honest, I was thinking of going as low as £2000 for the whole system (PC + Peripherals) and I'm not too fond of the idea of selling parts individually. If I were to sell it I would also like to know what would happen to the warranty on the PC?

After a read of your compliant there. I don't understand why you would want a refund? As pcs have fixed it?

so you want £2000?

who was it that wanted parts? what would you be interested in? if its parts i dont need then you can have them and then i may be more interested with the price lowered

i think perhaps PCS could sell these as used & refurbished (<- right word?) at a discounted price, obviously they would have to run checks etc, but people may be very interested in the discounted price and if they become quite popular, it will increase the speed in which personal orders are completed

I'm only interested in the 8gb of 1600mhz ram. The 580's are 1.5gb, mines 3gb so they are no use to me. Also perhaps a HDD.

Sorry, I should make it more clear. I have no problem with the machine itself, other than the faults which have been fixed, but I have a problem with the service. I think I outlined it in the PC Advisor thread, but the main point is that I was told I would need 2 GTX580s in SLI to max current games, which I don't, among other things. Basically, I have lost confidence in PCS as a company, although certain individuals have been more than helpful (Wayne Robinson in particular)

The reason I didn't want to bring up the reasons for me selling the PC is to avoid derailing this thread.

@Tom

I wouldn't sell the RAM, although id sell a HDD and im pretty sure that the 1.5GB works with 3GB

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with PCs and your awesome spec'd pc. Hope you get everything sorted. I won't be able to buy it as i have just recently received my pcs rig.

1.5GB will not work with the 3GB in sli. Well, it will but the 3GB will be reduced to a 1.5GB so rendering the 3GB pointless.

@wozza i will probably wait to upgrade my pc, as its not really needed. The only thing i fancy would be more ram.

Im pretty sure we've been through this before wozza. PCS confirmed they cant use used parts, as they cant sell them in new builds. Just saying so things dont get confused here.

As to the pcadvisor link. Not being harsh Pizza, but I really do think people should think when creating thread titles. "Stay away from PC Specialist"? Sorry, 1000s of satisfied customers, you have some problems, and you'd tell the world to get a 10ft barge pole and get not-poking? Just seems hasty and uncalled for really.

I still think you'll struggle to sell the PC as a whole, because someone could get a spanking new one for not much more than you'll be happy with, and no have to deal with any of the history of it (thinking used car sales here).

I still dont get why you wouldnt stick with it, get all the niggles sorted and carry on. Surely if you take your custom elsewhere and get a refund, you could end up with other problems? Then what? Do it again? You'd never have a PC! :D

best of luck either way.
