Hi all, i am about to purchase a gaming spec pc.
I have trawled utube and other sites for reviews on all the parts so i can be reasonably satisfied that they are all pukka.
The motherboard is a rampage 3 extreme, and i intend to plug in an intel 510 ssd. Now, there are a couple of vids out there which, having done benchmark tests, noticed the read/write for an ssd was awful, i mean really bad. One poster on utube noticed that the sd had been plugged into the marvel connector NOT the intel socket on the mobo. Once changed over, the ssd was posting speeds that were more in line with its high performance.
So, i was wondering, do pc specialist pc makers know this or do they have a 'set' method of build, that restricts each individual 'builders' personal, and informed experienced touch?
A bit long winded, and maybe a tad strident in tone, but when you're about to spend 3k on a pc, you really want to know the peeps putting it together are on the ball.
as a side issue, anyone know if the latest drivers (that is, not the old and out of date ones on the discs) are installed as part of the assembly?
many thanks, in advance.
chris.
