Does anybody know if there will be duty paid when shipping to Ireland? I bought through the Irish site and paid Irish Vat.

I have only recently ordered a PC with the RTX3080, I dont want to be waiting months to then have to turn it away because I wont pay the duty.

I don't about this specifically, but reading from a few Irish customers of PCS, you will apparently need to arrange an EORI number in order to import your PC into Ireland.

It's nothing to do with EORI. That's was a different case.

As already discussed in the other similar threads, Irish customers already confirmed not having to pay import tax because for PC and PC parts it's zero percent. And won't be needed to pay Irish VAT at the customs as long as the Irish VAT is applied by seller during transaction. When it's bought from .ie website and delivery is to ROI, Irish Vat is normally applied as per above. There's nothing to worry regarding this, just keep in mind much longer not just building (demand and supply issues + pandemic), but also delivery (Brexit paperwork) times.

For private (not business) customers Eori is not relevant.

No there won't be customs fees, however there will be longer than usual wait times. Mine was supposed to arrive today but according to FedEx's customer service it is now awaiting customs clearance, yet my tracking link hasn't updated since about 40 hours ago. I don't know if this an error with paperwork or if FedEx is just slow. So expect a similar situation when yours is arriving.

Normally somewhere between a few days to a week. Have you ordered before (21% VAT) or after (23% VAT) 1st of March? There're 3 options for "2 day delivery to Republic of Ireland": with 0% VAT, with 21% and with 23%. If you picked 0% and your excl. VAT amount is same as incl. VAT, then you'll need to pay VAT to the Irish Revenue before Customs will clear the item. If you ordered after the 1st March, you should have picked the one with 23% VAT as a temporary VAT relief has ended then in Ireland.

I ordered after the 1st of March and i chose 2-3 day delivery
There're a few Republic of Ireland 2-3 day delivery options: with 0, 21 and 23%. If you've picked with 23%, then there will be no delay in Customs. Just have a look your invoice and divide the including VAT total by excluding VAT total. If the result is 1.23, then it's all good.

Yeah I looked at the invoice and it says 23% vat. And I decided I and it equals 1.23. That's a relief thanks. But do you know how long it will take because it was meant to come Wednesday March 31 and it still says clearance delay in Dublin and I'm in Cork

Until Feb, clearance in dublin took anything from a few hours to a day.

HOWEVER, my 2nd RMA in the way back from UK to Ireland, went into customs on 23rd March and cleared on 3rd April (yesterday) ie. 11 days. In your case, the documents would have been sent by PCS as a part of the shipment.

My case was an RMA and I got an email from FedEx/customs for proof of export shipment. In my specific case, Because it’s the 2nd RMA within 2 months, customs might have been worried that there might be something dodgy going on, which could be attributed to the delay.

Sounds that it's all good - just need to wait. You should definitely get by the end of the next week.

Few hours is very lucky. Normally would take somewhere between a few days up to 10 days... But in time Customs should get to the point when items will get released quicker... Just taking time to adopt to the new system.

My original delivery - 12th Jan
took customs 2 hours to clear. Package available for clearance at 8:16am
international shipment release at 10:33am

First RMA (same PC) returned back from PCS to ireland

There were a few others in the forum who had clearance on the same day and next day done in a few hours, faster than mine. They got it delivered to dublin on the same and next day.
Mine, Delivered to Galway on 18th - another 6 days later.

In addition,

Non dublin deliveries are managed by TNT (acquired by FedEx) . Once the customs clearance is done, it’s handed over to TNT and TNT assigns a different tracking number, because the systems are not fully integrated yet (info from FedEx escalation team as of 25thFeb) . FedEx customer service can provide you the TNT tracking number if you ask.

After customs clearance Update on FedEx tracking will be slower than TNT tracking site - for non dublin deliveries.

not sure if it’s too much detail, but someone might find it helpful to reduce their blood pressure.

Mine is showing as being in Dublin since Wed 24th March so hopefully it will be delivered to me in Cork during the coming week.
