Defiance III GTX 1060 quick review + thoughts on light bleed and possible solution
Hello everyone
I've had mine for almost three weeks or so and I love the machine so much for its slim profile, very solid feel in hand, back-lit keyboard and, of course, superb performance.
One thing I have to mention is the light bleed. It was a bit annoying at the start but I got used to it as it is only visible on an absolutely black background. Also, after speaking with Jake from repairs at EGX it became clear that it's actually laptop's bezel applying too much pressure on the display panel and therefore causing the light bleed around the edges. Proof: pop off your bezel ( just squeeze your nails under it and gently pop off) and witness how your light bleed is gone. Worth mentioning that my Asus n56vj has no light bleed whatsoever because the display itself is reinforced with a metal frame around it. Maybe doing something similar would help with the light bleed of Defiance III. Just food for thought for those willing to come up with a possible fix.
Edit: noticed misspelled thread name. *sigh*
