The Good
I love the look of the things. Very understated, and seems very sturdy as well. Althought it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. I like the keyboard, very good typing feel. Really nice backlight as well. The large touchpad is also a bonus, and can be easily disabled when gaming (Quite easy to tap it when using WASD for games).
Speaking of games, the 970m is a great card. I was initially considering the optimus with the 960m, but I'm glad I didn't. The price really doesn't reflect the large gap between the two. Playing Metro 2033 Redux almost maxed out right now (No SSAO) and it's a steady 60fps, low-mid 40s in the most intensive areas.
This is the first time I've had an SSD and it's worth it, boot times are great, as are loading times with games installed on it.
Speakers are also good. Quite loud with good quality sound.
The Maybe
The screen seems to be of good quality. There's been a few comments about backlight bleed, but maybe I was lucky as I can't see any at all. The colour of the screen though, I just can't get used to. Maybe it's because my last laptop was a glossy screen and this one is matte? The colours just seem a little bit too muted, not very vibrant. Might try some more tweaking, or maybe I'll just get used to it.
EDIT 04/02/16 - Having used it for a bit longer now, I am indeed getting used to it.
Whilst the touchpad is nice, the buttons are sometimes hit and miss. LMB especially, but it's a minor issue.
The Bad
There's really not a lot of bad points I've found so far. The killer network suite is really annoying though. Everytime I restart, or wake up the computer from sleep mode, it's re-enabled Bandwidth control which just slows down all the internet stuff.
I also got a BSOD yesterday whilst playing some metro, and it was related to the Synaptics touchpad driver? I reinstalled an older driver (Can't find a newer one) so I'll see if it happens again.
EDIT 04/02/16 Not happened again yet thankfully, older driver > newer somehow
Overall 9/10. Great laptop. Hoping it'll last for a good few years to come.
Again, feels sturdy. Good quality materials.
Love the backlight.
Matte screen.
