Defiance II CPU Temperature

Hi,
i bought this Defiance II with 970M about 8 months ago. In recent times I started monitoring CPU temperature while playing some games with CPUID HwMonitor and I noticed a strange behavior:
GPU temperature is around ~80 °C but CPU temperature show 100° in Max temperature panel and ~70°C in actual temperature panel and it seems quite steady. Should I be worried about that max temperature?
Another strange behavior I noticed is that sometimes CPU fan stops spinning for about 1 second while I'm playing.

Thank you

100 degrees isn't a good temp (it's more or less the CPU's max at which point it throttles itself to try to mitigate temps) and your CPU shouldn't be spiking to that during gaming load.

If you can hear a problem with the fan, it would be worth contacting PCS. If it's 8 months old it should still be covered by the 1 year parts warranty.

100C is ridiculous. Did you pay for MX4 paste? They should sort it out for you. If you can and want to repaste yourself, try Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, my CPU temps have improved a bit, but the main improvement is my fan doesn't go on full unless im running a stress test like Prime95 (so far).

If the fan's cutting out I'm not sure a repaste will be the whole fix.

The general temps sound kinda normal, it's the spikes that seem to be the biggest issue.

+1 for Thermal Grizzly, but I think Oussebon's comment has merit, the fan shouldn't be cutting out whilst gaming.

It may be a BIOS update that's required, but either way, I would contact PCS to discuss it with them.
