Defiance II 970M - Can't uninstall Windows 10

Hi there.

I recently bought the 970M version of the Definance II. It is a flawless beast for the most part, however there is a large issue which is driving me insane.

When I ordered the Defiance II I asked for no operating system to be installed and was planning to install windows 7 on the laptop when it arrived.

Yet it came with windows 10 pre-installed, which I presume was used for the testing stages.

I decided to try out windows 10 and have regretted my decision. The system runs flawlessly apart from the large amount of blue screen of death errors I get on a daily basis. I really just want to get back to windows 7 at this point.

You would think all I need to do is simply plug in a bootable USB / CD and boot from the BIOS. Then format the C: drive and install windows 7 right?

For some reason even when I tell my system to boot from the USB it will still boot to Windows 10 every single time without fail.

I have reformatted the USB multiple times and it works fine on every other system. The BIOS detects the USB but doesn't seem to boot into it even when I change the boot order.

Could it be because it is a USB 2.0 and all my USB ports are 3.0?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

The BSODS in windows 10 are almost certainly because drivers aren't installed correctly.
I would turn off UEFI by disabling secure boot in the bios options, then try to boot from the usb. UEFI is a nightmare and causes loads of problems with discovering external drives and partitioning.

Thankyou so much for the advice. Disabling UEFI did fix the boot problem. I installed windows 8.1

However the blue screen of death continues to persist. On a brand new laptop that has no other software installed.

How do I make sure I have the correct drivers installed? I have installed all the CD drivers that came with the system and have not changed anything else.

Should display a code on BSOD, try and catch it.

I have the same model/spec and its running fine so far on Windows 10. I installed drivers from PCspec website. I don't have an external drive so it was my only option. Maybe they're more up to date than disc ones?

Hope this helps.
