Defiance II 14"

Hey all,

I've been eyeing up the Defiance II for the past month now, however I can't find any reviews online for the model, so thought I'd ask a few questions on here to see if any owners could advise, before hopefully taking the plunge in the next week or two.

I've been planning on getting it with 16gb of RAM, but with the standard 6700hq processor, and 970m graphics card, as to be honest that sounds like a very powerful bit of kit. I'm planning on getting the 512gb sm951 M2 SSD as well, it's mighty expensive, but the specs on it are insane and I've heard very good things.

Anyway, for my questions, I've wondered the following;

Is the SM951 SSD worth the £200 price? I've got an SSD in my desktop and thats quick, but this is four times the read and write speed, it sounds amazing.

Just how powerful is the laptop? I've seen the benchmarks, and they're remarkable, but can the thing really play battlefront at 1080p at 60fps on Ultra, that sounds insane, but thats what the benchmarks say!

How hot does the machine run? For the kit under the hood, and the relative modest size of the laptop, I'm guessing it's like a mini oven?

Finally the screen, how is that?

Thanks for any replies, I greatly appreciate any feedback you owners may have.

How do we reckon the 970m would handle 'Tom clancy the division'? Is 1080p60fps too far a push for it? Would be coupled with 16gb DDR4 and 6700HQ (2.6GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo) processor.

Should be fine, at least high settings, if not mostly max.

Nice, I dont really have much interest in the division, but as its free it'll be a perfect game to benchmark my new beast :D The next graphical powerhouse I'm looking forward to is Star Citizen (if it ever releases), hopefully this laptop will be able to at least give me medium settings on that, but who knows what'll happen between now and when that releases!

970m is a fantastic card. I'm on the 870m and it's still maxing most games, and I think the 970m is quite a step up from mine. Should last you a while.
