Hey all,
So I've recently went on vacation and took my gaming laptop with me, but I've noticed that (even when plugged in) the games I'm playing have suffered an FPS decrease. For example, I was playing Styx: Master of Shadows on Ultra, where everything was running at a smooth 60FPS. Until yesterday, when it was dipping in random areas with framerates such as 45-50. The same occured on Overwatch, where I was usually averaging 59-61FPS, until yesterday when it was dipping to 35-45 whenever other players began to shoot me.
I haven't made any changes to my laptop in a long time and it seems rather unusual. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to what's causing this and what to do to improve it, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Also, my temperatures rarely get too hot. For example, the highest my laptop has ever been was 79 degrees while running The Witcher 3 on Ultra. On average (while gaming) it goes between 55-70.
My specs:
Windows 10 (Home)
Nvidia GTX 980M
Intel i7-4940MX
32GB RAM
