Exactly 2 weeks ago I finally ordered my first gaming rig and I'm about to explode with excitement!

Another question:
Any other Irish PCS customers here? would love to get some discussion on how long did it take for your system to be delivered and whether there were any extra shipping costs involved that I may be overlooking? I ordered on the 19th of last month, and am expecting the courier to arrive sometime next week (fingers crossed!). Is there any way to specify the courier when I'm available to pick up the delivery? I work Mon-Fri 13:30 - 21:30 so it would be great if I could somehow specify for the courier to land at my place before 13:00.

I'd consider the gtx 670, it is cheaper than the gtx 680 and offers close performance. The i7 will be a good choice if you are planning to run more cpu intensive applications, if it is just for gaming you may want to consider the i5-3570. Your motherboard supports SLI but if you wish to add a 2nd gpu you will need to upgrade the PSU to at least 750w.

that's a lovely rig and I wouldn't change a thing!!! I'd probably get a HX580 mod psu, giving you nice cable management and extra power for another 680!!!!

Agree with every word of this. My rig is pretty much identical to yours but with the modifications that Keynes has just mentioned

Thanks man, I decided to go for the 680 just to get that extra "oomph" factor, I know it's only slightly better than the 670, but I had the extra cash lying around so I thought why not went with the i7 as I'm planning on playing a few CPU intensive games such as Total War and maybe dribble into some MMOs.

I'm planning on going with the single GPU for the next year at least, if I was to add another 680 in there, would it be as easy as just buying a new PSU and it would work with my system or is there some extra tweaks that have to be done when upgrading the PSU?

If you are planning to SLI in the future it will be cheaper and more convenient to upgrade the PSU for less than £20 otherwise you may end up with 2 PSUs.

Also, going back to one of my initial questions, is there any way to specify to DPD to be at my house before a certain time? Any day of the week suits but I won't be there after 13:30
Any ideas?

No,a higher rated wattage PSU will only use the current demanded,so it wont make your bills higher.

nah it means the pus can power up to 850w's it wont draw 850w's unless it needs to, to be honest you will have loads spare!

DPd will give you a message (providing you gave pcs you mobile number) with your hour slot delivery time, you cant tell them when to deliver, but only be in when they can deliver. Unless you pay for pre 10am postage, etc etc/

Thanks tom, I would probably have ordered the 850W if I had known earlier. Since my order is in the building stage I'd rather not modify the order in case it prolongs the (oh, so gruelling) wait!
