How future proof would a AMD Phenom ii x2 560 3.3ghz? Is there any need to go for the Phenom quad cores? How does this clok speed (3.3ghz) fair up? Im only using the PC for gaming and will get a GTX 460 with it. Cheers

The list of games utilising 4 cores is small but growing, although many would swear by a high clock dual core, so i guess its down to what your budget allows.

Can PC/s overclock a Phenom x2 560? what to and what costs? If I get the highest quad core phenom then it puts my rig cost up about £100. Im trying to work out if it is worth it...

It depends what games you'll be wanting to play, for something like world of warcraft it's fine but the phenom ii x4 955 isn't that much more expensive (+£36.00) it would be worth upgrading to it if you can afford to.

Yes that will be fine, I'm using that same PSU for the same CPU and the next GPU up, GTX470.
The PCS spec config will tell you if you're over or under powered when you hit the continue button :)
I can highly recommend the x4 970. Seems to be a great CPU :)

Phoenix I've just read on the tech support forum for wow that people with high end systems, like a phenom x6 1090T with a 6870 and 5870's are getting low fps since the patch along with many others with high end systems, harder to max now need super high end pc's

Sorry but rubbish. My brother still maxes it out and his PC is in the middle ground somewhere. It is not a resource intense game and very easy to max out.

+4

While there will be bugs and problems with patches sometimes world of warcraft really isn't an intensive game.

The latest updates to WoW have introduced a lot of changes to the graphics engine, not least funky water effects and experimantal DX 11 support.

So yes, it is still hardly Crysis, but the specs to max it out have jumped slightly recently.

True but hardly astronomically!
