Custom Gaming Latop For Under £500?

Hi guys,
I am trying to build a custom gaming laptop for my nephew for under £500. His starting college and needs it for college, for both work and gaming.
I don't really know anything about pcs or laptops, can someone help me with a good custom built laptop for under £500? I would really appreciate it, and would like to build it this week.

You're not going to get a custom gaming laptop for £500. You're going to struggle to get an off-the-shelf gaming laptop at that level. While there will be laptops with discrete graphics cards in that kind of price range, the cards will be extremely weak and sometimes little better than onboard graphics.

If you're lucky you might find an off the shelf laptop with a quad core i5 and a GTX 960M for about £600 on sale somewhere.

If your nephew doesn't need portability he might get a desktop capable of entry level gaming that also has scope for future upgrades for that kind of £ e.g.
