Curved monitor.. Is it worth it?

Good afternoon, hope you are all doing well.

I'm looking to purchase a curved monitor for my set up, I currently have a dual set up but wanting to sell the 2 screens I have and get a curved screen.

Just curious, if anyone has one.. pro's and con's to it? And any recommendations please? Willing to spend at least £300 on good decent one. 40' is the biggest I can fit onto my desk.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you all.

What monitors is it you currently have? £300 is around the budget for an entry level 1440p gaming monitor. I don't think you're going to tick many boxes in the replacement of 2 screens.

What is it you are currently considering?

There are pros for gaming for sure, the wrap around of a super ultrawide just adds immersion. For the cons, you need to consider if your PC is powerful enough to drive the monitor. What is your current spec (Full spec list please)?.

The 2 monitors I have are, 1. ACER Nitro VG240Ybmiix Full HD 23.8" IPS - 75 Hz
2. ACER Nitro VG271UM3bmiipx Quad HD 27" IPS LCD - 60 Hz.

I found one on Currys - https://www.currys.co.uk/products/l...-34-curved-va-lcd-monitor-black-10267069.html - Again, just through browsing so not sure if it's decent or not.

That one you have selected looks OK for the money. It's a little lower than I would like frequency wise, but given it's faster than what you currently have it should suit your needs if you're not looking for moaarr frames.

The size of the screen isn't going to be the same as having 2 screens though, so just keep in mind that you will be losing a number of inches (ooerr). Your current setup has over 50" on the diagonal so it might be worth considering keeping one. If you only really use it for gaming then it'll be fine though.

I would have a look at the performance of the system on the 1440p screen as it stands. I don't think there's enough power from the GPU to push the pixels required for 1440p ultrawide. If you're happy with lower frames it'll likely be fine, but just keep in mind you're asking for a significant jump in performance from your GPU to keep up.
