CPU Upgrade?

Okay I've recently been looking to get a new motherboard and CPU.

I was set on getting an i5-4570 with a Asus B85M-G with *maybe* a cooler to keep the temps nice with would be at the £270 mark.

But now I'm considering an i5-4670K with a Asus Z87-A Motherboard and some cooler but that'll bring the cost upto around the £350-£370 mark.

So I was just wondering is the possible extra of £100 worth it for the performance difference? I've never overclocked before and most likely won't until I start seeing a performance difference in my PC say... 4 years down the line.

Or should I just stick to the 4570 with that mobo/get a better mobo but no cooler/etc?

Price wise, I'm not happy going over the £300 mark but if the performance is that much greater I'll consider it and save up for longer.

Decisions, decisions.

Current System:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T @ 2.8GHz
8GB GSkill Ripjaws @ 1600MHz
3GB Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X OC
500GB VeloCiraptor
640GB WD Caviar Green

I did first look at overclocking my CPU first time ever and the only reason was because I wasn't getting the FPS I expected on Arma 3, but was told it's not worth overclocking my old CPU *Had it for 4-5 years now* so I'm looking at going to Intel.

are you planning to buy it from PCS or do it yourself?
If not overclocking an H87 motherboard will do.

I'm planning to buy just the motherboard and CPU, you can't do that with PCS can you?

I know about the upgrade offer they do, but there's no option on my account for that :(

You can only order separate components if you are a previous customer and have ordered a whole system from them before afaik.

If your current PC is from PCS, there is a limit on what their upgrade page will allow you to upgrade, i.e. on PC's over a certain age (this is mainly because things that are older are more difficult to upgrade with newer stuff due to limitations on compatibility), the option is not there and you would have to phone/email them to upgrade
