Hi there, im currently in the process of configuring a new laptop and need some advice. The laptop is going to be mainly used for college. No graphic intensive programs will be used just mainly general college work like typing essays and assignments, net browsing as well as watching movies etc, so a dedicated graphics is unnecessary. Also, i need it to be portable and light. This has led me to the Ultrabook 15.6. The design and weight seem ideal for my needs. My problem is deciding on what processor/ram combination to go with. Ideally my budget is around 650e (£575).
Question 1. Should i go with the i3-3120M or i5-3230m? There is a £35 difference. Do you think it worth it/necessary to go with the i5 over the i3?
Question 2. Should i go with 4GB or 8GB ram? If 4gb should i go 1x4 or 2x2. If 8GB should i go 1x8 or 2x4? Also, would a difference in ram speed (ie 1333 v 1600) make a difference in performance (all things considered)?
thanks, folks
