Earlier this week I received my 15.6" COSMOS IX laptop. After 7 years using my old PCS laptop, it was time for an upgrade and so far, I am absolutely chuffed.
The spec I ordered was:
So as a bit of a background in why i chose this: I work in SEO so use Google Chrome a lot along with other applications such as Screaming Frog which require a half decent spec, in particular a quick HDD and plenty of RAM. Gaming is not a big thing for me, although if I do fancy it, I would like something which won't run at 10fps
It took me a while configuring this because I wanted to make sure it will last for a good time. Looking on these forums was EXTREMELEY helpful and I cannot recommend it enough to help you build your spec. Some things which I found in particular:
Graphics card wise, for the extra money (which wasn't much), I just thought go for the Ti version. I'm not a huge gamer but If I do want to play, this laptop will handle it fine.
The keyboard is really nice but the touch pad does take getting used to, which isn't an issue as I mostly use an external wireless mouse anyway.
I took out the 120GB SSD and replaced it with my 500GB SSD and doing this was no problem. There are a lot of screws at the back, but once off, I just needed to first remove the M.2 hdd which gave me access to the SSD so that I could change it. No issues and it took literally 10 minutes.
I had a very strange issue with my wifi. At home, my router runs on 2 channels; 2g and 5g. When I connected to the 5g channel, it was really slow, unusually. And strangely it would be like this for about 5-10 minutes and then all of a sudden it sprung to life and ran at normal speeds. I tested on the 2g channel and weirdly that ran to normal speeds straight away. I updated drivers, made sure power settings were not affecting the wifi card and weirdly, I think it's fixed it. That was the only issue I had with this laptop but it doesn't seem an issue anymore.
Next, i'm going to buy a cooling stand for this as the fans are at the bottom, so not much room for the hot air to escape. Can anyone recommend a cooling stand? Seen a few on Amazon. I don't need the Rolls Royce of fans, just need something to keep this laptop extra cool when needed.
Cracking laptop!

- - Buying 2 ram slots as apposed to 1 of the same size
- - Using a M.2 NVMe hdd for an even quicker hard drive performance
