Cosmos II - when I run a game on it the fan goes nuts...

This has only just started happening recently, the laptop doesnt feel hot (and using HWmonitor it never seems to go much above 60) but the fan goes at full speed. This only seems to happen when I have it plugged into the mains, if I remove the plug and run it off the battery the fan slows down.

Anyone else having this issue or know how I can fix it?

It's kind of expected for this kind of laptop to be quite loud when gaming. Mine is as well. You could always try cleaning the inside?

When you run it on battery it limits the GPU and cpu to save power hence the fans don't need to work so hard.

I would agree with wozza and take it apart and do a good clean out. How long have you had it and have you ever cleaned it?

Ive had it about a year now. I took the back off it last week and cleaned the inside with compressed air, the fan was perfectly clean though which got me wondering if something else was causing it.

Your laptop is probably running on high performance mode, which tends to do things like speed up the fan speed which will lower component temperatures and therefore increase longevity of the device.
