I find it really annoying that there's no "copy to clipboard" button on the "post to forum" page. This is particularly annoying on my phone, but it's also slow on a desktop.

So I've made a quick TamperMonkey script to add it:

Obviously I'd love it if this could be enabled by default for everyone, but in the meantime it is already making my life better!

Actually a whole "rich post-to-forum" idea would be possible... It's my day off, so after I'm back from supermarket and gym I might have a play and see what I can come up with!

Here's my "rich post-to-forum" idea. It's very much a 0.1 version: it's quite clunky, but it is functional.

Sadly I haven't worked out how to hack it so that colours are supported yet. Possibly the only way to do it is by pasting it as BB Code rather than just as text into the editor, which would be annoying.

Just going to try it with UserScripts as TamperMonkey wants £1.99 on the Apple App Store

ETA: must be a Mac/Safari issue, as both scripts copy right text when I paste it into Word/TextEdit, but not when I paste it into a forum post in Safari.

Although to be fair, that's a similar warning I give anyone who wants a copy of one of my Excel models for their own use...no warranty given or implied, if you break it you fix it, etc.

This is because Firefox does not currently support the clipboard API. My script has the (clunky, unpleasant, hacky) workaround.
