Computer for 3D work £1600

Hello! considering the purchase of this computer. I'll be using it for 3D animation work in Maya as well as general 3D modelling and rendering etc. I'm a student so 1600 quid is a purchase one becomes...nervous about. Just want to have a little double check on whether this is a good pc? Components chosen after the helpful advice from someone on Tom's Hardware forums. Not looking to upgrade or modify much with it in the next few years, maybe some RAM if needed...other than that i'll leave it alone.

Hi there, just wanted to follow up on this thread, did you end up buying it with the exact specs as above?
Just curious as to know the performance of it when using 3D software. I have somewhat similar pc and it annoys me most of the time.

I did, was suggested to me, its not the best, some compatibility issues I'm guessing, it does me well, but it renders like a computer worth only 800 or something, i manage. will know better next time!

Unfortunately the platform just isn't suitable for the parts, so the CPU will be throttling at all times leading to poor performance.

It's always best to get advice on a build. It's not the case that any component works with another, they all have their different uses and it all depends what other components are there within your budget.

If you're not getting a response to your post just post a follow up saying bump or something.

A quick upgrade that will improve performance exponentially is a Corsair H100i Platinum cooler, that will bring the CPU into thermal limits and enable it to run at max performance. Should make a big improvement.

Also uninstall bullguard. Just use windows defender which is part of windows. It's been rated as the top AV for two years running.
