Cleaning the inside of my PC - Corsair 750D case

Hi,

Since I have had my PC, I haven't fully cleaned it. I have the Corsair 750D case. I have only looked at and cleaned the dust filter(s) when needed.

What is the best method to use when cleaning the inside of this case?

Would completely turning the system off, unplugging it from the mains, letting it cool down, taking the windowed side panel off and using some compressed air in short bursts be OK?

Or is there a better method(s) to use?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.

You can get electric air dusters that are very good, have a dig around though they can be expensive.
Aim for one with a couple of different power settings ideally.... they last year so cost more upfront, but cheaper than buying compressed air if youre going to use it regularly.

Turn it all off, including the power switch on the PSU, you may find the fans are on rails you can remove etc too...depends on the case, just give it a good blow out.

Be careful of any small parts/knocking anything, you are mainly aiming just to get all the dust out.

Be VERY careful if you use compressed air that it's low pressure.

I once bought a can of compressed air for cleaning electrical switchgear. It turned out to be quite high pressure so the cooling effect of the spray was enough to freeze the plastic of the satellite phone cradle I was cleaning. Frozen plastic goes brittle and it promptly fell apart.

Even the cooling effect from low pressure cans of compressed air can upset some electronic components, so be careful what you spray with it. :)
