The BSOD Doctor
I managed to tip a glass of water over the keyboard of my wife's Dell Mini 12. Not intentionally, though I hate the useless thing with a passion. My wife likes it because......now wait for this..........you'll love it..........she likes it because it's pink.
Naturally we did all the usual things but some of the keyboard keys were no longer working (annoyingly Enter was one of them). I found a cheap replacement keyboard on eBay (£9, too cheap to pass up on) but it's not that. I'm wondering whether the ZIF socket might be corroded a little and failing to make a proper connection to the cable?
Anyone any ideas of the best way to clean that? I'm thinking of some very fine emery paper folded double - it should fit into the socket nicely. Any better suggestions? Or has anyone got a Dell Mini 12 motherboard going begging.
BTW. She is using my old Compaq which outperforms the Dell Mini 12 by a factor of about 100. But the Compaq is black and not pink.........
