Hi all , i am at this moment selecting a new desktop system i was going for a mini pc but i got some advice from this forum saying that a mini pc is not really great for gaming .So i am going for a desktop and hope you can help me with my decision in choosing the correct items for my build. My system is going to be used for mainly gaming like wow, starcraft 2 and the new star wars mmo, would like it to be able to play all current and most future games but not too worried about having things all maxed out just as long as it is playable. I have listed a few questions below and would appreciate some answers if possible as am a little confused and not sure about a few items. Thanks in advance

1 is it best to match a amd processor with a radeon graphics card , or is it not an issue to mix intel with amd card

2 am i correct in saying that amd and radeon are cheaper than intel and nvidia cards in the same performance bracket.

3 what graphics card would be good enough to run wow and starcraft 2 on good settings and be ok for future games ( i am not after running everything maxed out on every game)

4 im really confused about what processor to go for , would a cheaper amd be good or would i need to really go for a more expensive intel chipset . i just dont want to pay out extra money for a system that im not going to really use to its potential, just want something that will do for what i need as im looking to spend only about £600.

5 There seems to be so many hard drives to choose from, i think i would like a min 600g one but not really sure what type to go for there seems so much choice. So any help or advice pn choosing one would be very much appreciated.

Im sorry if my questions may seem a bit silly at all, but im not really up to date with all this i used to be someone that went in to pc world and purchased what the sales person told me. Thanks again

Ok, Will answer your questions;

1: Intel and radeon mix fine

2: they are probably slightly cheaper but I definately prefer intel. Nvidea and radeon is the best you can get for your budget.

3: I'd recommend a 560 or a 68xx or so.

4: if you can affor it, get an i5 if not, get a phenom.

5: for the hdd, Get a caviar black. Get the 2tb version as it seemsto be the same price as the 1tb version do you might as well!
