Anything I could improve on to it?

Will this computer play ANY computer game on the highest settings?

Just 3 things i will point out.

1. Unless your brother will be using 3 monitors in the future then the 3GB GPU is overkill the 1.5GB version is all that is needed for 1 screen or even 2.

2. The PSU you only need a 650W PSU for that system it is more than enough with a good amount of breathing room.

3. Lastly don't forget the silver warranty it's only £5 and that will extend the 1 month collect and return to a full year.

Thanks for the reply.

Although quick question, since im a noob on computers. ( Still learning :turned:)

Why would a 3GB GPU be overkill?

Wouldn't I get any more benefits having a 3GB GPU for games or will a 1.5GB GPU for games just do exactly the same as a 3GB GPU?

My little brother plays alot of games, so I wish him to play any game he wants in MAX settings without any problems at all, so just trying to get it perfect for him I always thought the more memory within the GPU the better it will play games. =/

If you could elaborate on this subject would be appreciated.

Also thanks for the tip on the PSU and the Warranty! :D

Yeah in a way more ram does help but only to a certain extent and that is basically what screen configuration you have so for 1-2 monitors 1.5GB of vram which you get on the card is more than enough but if you want 3 monitors then you will need the extra but you would also need a second GPU to add a third monitor.

So it won't help on a single monitor?

A 1.5GB GPU will run a game just as good as a 3GB GPU on a single monitor?

Yes

Spec looks good, but like fear says change the the 580 to the 1.5gb model. Then i'd use the money to maybe add in a 20gb ssd as a caching drive. Read about it here There's an option on the configure thing. Its alot cheaper than adding a 60gb ssd, but gives you alot of benefits.

Very useful information thanks!

So a 20GB SSD Catching Drive will speed up my application start-up?

Will this SSD Caching Drive automatically run by itself or will I have to configure the settings to make it speed up the application process on applications I frequently use?

Also will a 20GB SSD Catching Drive be big enough?

If your brother is just mainly gaming then i would leave the SSD cache drive myself but if he will be doing lot's of opening different programs all day then saving maybe a second each time he does this then i agree it could be worth the extra but for mainly gaming i don't really see any benefit to it.

I guess the big question is, will this computer play any game on max settings for him without any problems?

That is the best you are going to get on a single GPU setup, i have the same card and am using a 1920x1200 resolution monitor and every game i play is at that resolution with everything at max but obviously with the way things move on with PC's this card could still max games out in as much as 2-3 years or only 6-12 months just depends what happens, if you want to leave the spec open to the possibility of upgrading with a second GPU in the future then you would need the motherboard from your OP and a 1050W PSU but that single GTX580 is an absolute beast on it's own.

Yes that's why I picked that motherboard in my OP so I have the option to upgrade later on.

But I believe that this current specification will be future proof for games at the moment right?

Yeah as i said before i am using the same GPU and that is maxing the games out nicely but if you want to leave it open for adding the second GPU the definately get the P8Z68-V motherboard also to save having to mess about changing the PSU over go for the 1050W corsair but he could change this if/when he decides to add a second card if thats is something he would be comfortable doing i don't like messing about inside the case much myself reason why i increased mine.

Thanks very much sir!

Since a second GPU will not be needed for just a gaming computer and the 580 will do nicely and is pretty "future proof". I doubt I will need to change the PSU and the motherboard.

Your very welcome,

At the time being no you do not need a second GPU but just to make sure you know that gaming is the only real reason for multi GPU setups, anyway that system is going to be really good for a long time (Disclaimer, long time can be 3 minutes ot 3 years :p ) i am sure your brother is going to be real happy with it and are you sure you don't want an extra brother ;)
