Check spec please.

Hi all,

First of thank you for reading the post and any suggestions would be much appreciated. I know many of you will comment don't buy now wait till next month but I need a pc right now. Ended up going for an AMD GPU as it's purely for gaming I'm sure a 7900xt is good enough for a 1440p build. I won't need any of the added features for the Nvidia GPUs. I would have gone for a 7800x3 but as of now it's delayed till 31-01-25 that's why I have picked up a 9800x3d.
Sorry for the long wall of text.

Monitor - I'm going to pair it with an Alienware 1440p 240hz monitor

I would suggest the drives are the wrong way round, I would either opt for P44 500GB primary and P41 2TB secondary, or have them both as P44s if the budget allowed. There's no great benefit from having the secondary as a top of the line drive just yet, but it may come handy with more direct access adoption.

If you have no real need for the motherboard features of the X870 (performance net is zero and it's exactly the same chipset, no really... exactly) then the TUF X650-Plus WIFI would offer pretty much the same. USB4.0 and TB3 are the only real additions and you're paying £100 for it. If you want an X870 board go with the Aorus X870e, as at least you get the higher end chipset with more PCIe lanes etc.

I would probably opt for the Titan cooler, as it's got Link functionality. I don't know if these LCD ones from PCS are new or not, but the new versions of the coolers seem very limited so the Titan/Link models are the only modern offering I can see.

PSU is coming in at a rubbish 750 model when I click the link so just double check the 1200w Shift is selected as that's the one you want for higher end GPUs.

Stick the silver warranty on, it's a no brainer.

Rest looks good, but yeah...... should have held onto your rig till January as it's going to be likely put to shame once the new toys come out for the same cash.

Much Appreciated. And I definitely should have checked the news for anything new before I gave it away. Either way I'm still happy with the purchase anyway. Thanks @Scott

No worries at all, always the way it goes isn't it :D

You can make changes right up until the final inspection, just in case you want to incorporate what I have suggested. It's fine, it would just be a bit better with them in place IMO.

I already made the changes to build as you suggested and already purchased it. I can't wait!

Post up some pics and thoughts once you've received and had a play. Always good to get opinions and we all love a pic of a shiny new system!

Yea I will do, I been super impatient and I decided to go with the fast track for 1 day. I figured they would be busy and it might be delayed. Fast 1 day tracking and it's in testing.
