Can this run two screens?

My friend has a GTX 580 Palit with 1.5GB of VRAM. Can he run 2 or three monitors?
He is just gaming on the middle on and will use the others to check emails and watch videos etc.

The 580 is a good card. It can run them just don't expect to play modern games across all of them at a playable framerate.
Are the monitors 1080p?

No, all the low end cards have 2GB of vram so with 1.5GB you can't use 3 monitors. I would say that the 580 is too old to run them all.

When the 580 was top dog people would make surround gaming setups across 3 monitors so I am sure one can handle 2 considering he is only gaming on one.
Saying the 580 doesn't support 2 1080p monitors is like saying that a 780 won't in two years even though it can now.

The VRAM doesn't have much to do with it... Especially when only 1 monitor will be used for gaming.

I used to have 580's. One 580 can only run two screens, to run three screens you need to have two 580's. They were pretty good in the day and served me well, although they ran really hot and were incredibly noisy.
