can I still get the 7970m upgrade for my vortex II?

Hi all,
I was wondering if I can still get the upgrade for my vortex II from pcspecialist? Looking at getting it done in a month or 2.

I don't think they stock the hd 7970m anymore and you also need to make sure a bios update is available to support it. Best thing to do is to contact them directly.

I too was wanting this done and checked on the order updater - No upgrade from the AMD 6990M available.

I also asked via [email protected] and got told no. I know that upgrades can and have been done by PCSpecialist before.

It is unfortunate as the laptop is 'only' 2 years old and there are known problems with the 6990M overheating.

If anyone can suggest anything useful or any viable alternatives then please let us know.
