Hi,

I bought this monitor which I believe comes with a DisplayPort 1.2 cable included. Can I connect this Display Port to my computer directly, or will I need to use some sort of adapter?

Presumably this is the right connection to use as my monitor comes with GSync??

Thank you!

The 1070 has 3 Display Ports (DP) so yes, you can. The benefits of Display Port are that your monitor refresh rate is not limited to 60Hz like it is with a HDMI. Personally my monitor goes up to 200Hz, but I mostly use it at 144Hz and that is connected with a Display Port from a 1080, which design wise is very similar to your 1070.
No adapter needed. Plug it in straight from the graphics card to the monitor :)

Thank you Oussebon and PCUser1990!!!

I never even realised you could connect a monitor wire to the inside of your tower directly to the graphics card! Is there an external port that I can use to do this or do I need to take off the tower cover and insert the wire directly to the card hidden inside?

The ports for the graphics card are external ports and are on the back of the PC case so you can just plug them in without opening the case.

Edit: It'll look a bit like this (not exactly, but close):

The bit circled in red is where you'll need to plug in the cable from the monitor.
