Brand new computer restarting randomly

I bought a new PC and has been delivered today. After installing just one game (GTA 5), I played it for a short period of time and my computer seems to turn its self off instantly and back on without warning. This is happening frequently. Any suggestions?

Is this a PCSpecialist build? If so, put all the specs on screen :) what’s the PSU as I’m thinking it could be cutting out due to this?

Does your machine just shut off or goes through reboot?

Have you run Windows Update since you got it? If not please do that first. Re-run Windows Update until no more updates are found.

I'm not claiming that will fix the problem but it's a vital first step. :)

Yep! An update was pushed shortly after starting my computer for the first time so I did it. I’ve checked my drivers are updated too!

OK. Is there anything logged in the Event Viewer - apart from the Kernel Power 41 error which is a symptom not a cause?

It's worth turning the Windows auto-restart feature off so that the system halts rather than restarts. There may be diagnostic information on screen that you don't get to see because the system restarts. Enter the command sysdm.cpl into the Run command box. In the dialog that opens click the Advanced tab. In the Start-up & Recovery section near the bottom click the Settings button. Now uncheck the box that says 'Automatically Restart'. Also check that the Write Debugging Information field is set to 'Automatic Memory Dump'.

It might also be worth removing the graphics card and plugging the monitor into the motherboard to use the iGPU in the Intel CPU. Graphics performance will be awful of course but it will be useful to see whether it still shuts down.
