Could you please edit to include the "Unique Configurable URL" from the post to forum page? Makes it easier for us to go in and amend if needed rather than doing the whole configurator. Thank you

To know if this is a good spec for your needs or not, we need the following information:

- Maximum budget? Helps to know if there is any room to upgrade things

- Monitor to be used with this system? Resolution and refresh rate or make and model if unsure. Gaming systems are always specced according to the monitor

- Any other uses to take into account? Editing? Streaming? things like that

Let us know the above and we can advise appropriately
ive already purchased the system, im going to use an alienware aw2518hf (240hz), i will stream maybe in the future but not atm and as for editing ill be doing it with no other applications open

Well, it will certainly do the job you need it to without any issues. I'd change the following if you can:

Remove the thermal paste as that cooler comes with high-grade paste anyway...it's possible that the Arctic paste is inferior to the paste that come with the cooler (not sure)
Upgrade the Wi-Fi card as that one is very basic...an extra £10 gets you the AX200 wihich is far better and has Bluetooth as an extra which may come in handy someday
Upgrade the warranty to Silver as only £5 more for much better cover

For the rest, the only question is around the RAM as gaming won't require 32GB but the editing may depending on whether the editing is light or heavy. The 2080 Super could be dropped down to the non-Strix version as there really isn't enough difference to warrant the price increase.
will they remove the paste from the cooler and apply the Arctic one or will they leave it and send me the thermal paste with the PC? also ill be using wired keyboard/mouse and connection

The paste (in both cases, and to the best of my knowledge) comes in a tube, that they apply when putting the build together.
Corsair coolers come with paste already thats equal if not better than the arctic.

You are aiming for mostly gaming, and doing it on a HD monitor (for similar money, you could get a 1440p setup), the monitor you are getting will be a huge bottle neck on the build, youve effectively choosen highest spec available for everything but the monitor.

BTW I know how tempting it is to do that...

I haven't bought the the monitor, i was just thinking of getting it so i can get a different one its no problem, do you have any recommendations for 240hz

Any reason why you are set on 240Hz compared to 144Hz or 165Hz?

Not sure but my guess would be they would replace the cooler paste with the Arctic paste.

Regarding the Wi-Fi card...fair enough if Bluetooth is something you will never use but I would still get the Intel card though as it is a much better Wi-Fi card anyway (the Bluetooth is like a nice extra that's there is you need it but can be ignored if you don't)
i changed the WiFi card just in case i use a wireless mouse and also took off the paste thank you

Unless you have superhuman vision you arent going to be able to tell any difference, I would look at a very high spec 1440p monitor, if going professional route favour the response time, the build itself can also still be tweeked better in how youve paired things together.
What game(s) are you intending to play professionally that will also make a difference to what components, especially if looking at FPS.
The choice of CPU and GPU can make a significant difference depending on what game you are running.

Also, if looking at professional, it should be noted the next generation of GPU's are expected in autumn, so may be worth holding off or getting a lower card on a system to then upgrade once released.

It is a little different when it comes to competitive and professional gaming.....it comes down to speed of the graphics changing so 240Hz is preferred as it gives you the highest fps...but to get the high fps, they will sacrifice almost all graphical quality so will basically run the game on the lowest settings possible. 1080p 240Hz is the go-to for professional gamers
i dont mind about the graphics, as a console player im always playing on 1080p so im used to it, i just want to have a higher fps

Overwatch framerates on a 2070 Super with a 3700X are around the 170/180 mark on videos ive seen, the difference between the 3700X and 3800X is only about an extra 5 to 10 frames (again, you would need superhuman eyesight to really notice the difference)
Given the 3800X is only a couple of quid more, its not a massive issue, but the 3900X isnt going to get you anything over what the 3800X will on overwatch, easily run 1440p on max settings with a 2070 Super and the 3700X or 3800X, im not familiar with valorant, but given thats your main choice, its worth checking out now while you can.

You'll have time before building starts, so will be able to tune your build to suit that game, to me (and given i've just gone through a similar process putting my build together) I think you will be able to tune a fair few bits and have no end difference in performance.
3900X or 3900XT are hugely overshooting, and more aimed at high level video and photo editing, 3D modelling, that kinda stuff.
You wont gain from it. But you can take that money and put it in areas that you will.

RAM, highest frequency you can, look at the 3600Mhz, anything over 16Gb wont be used (again, you are looking at high end photo and video editing....if you intend to stream, there might be some benefit, but I would get it at 16Gb and test it out, you can always add more sticks)

Any reason why a 1000w powersupply? I cant imagine needing more than 850w even when anticipating upgrading the GPU, what did the configurator tell you your power consumption was when you submitted the spec?

Paste has already been mentioned, and WiFi card, after those tweeks I would aim of a 1440p monitor, low response time and 144Hz or 165Hz is you can find it, as a note, I would think you would be looking at around £400 to £600 on a 27" depending on brand/quality, if you are going to push the specs on colour quality to and want IPS rather than the (generally) higher response rates on a TN monitor, then you would be looking at £600 plus from what ive seen recently. With the aim of going pro, Id expect to be more focused on a TN rather than IPS though to get those 1ms response times

I'll admit, I hadnt looked at it that way.
For the money he has spent though, would he not still be able to get that graphics quality at high FPS anyway?
