Boot failure detected

My system needed some windows updates so I chose download and restart. Came up with a prompt saying something is still in the background but I hit restart anyways.

System now cannot boot and I cannot choose any option when the screen prompting me to select your to boot comes up.

First time I’ve ever had an issue like this since I bought my system

3 options appear and I can’t select any of them. Not with my mouse by hovering and clicking and not with my keyboard by using arrows keys and enter

Do the arrow keys move the option? It’s not very clear, we need to know of the keyboard is functioning in the BIOS?

Arrows keys move the options but pressing enter doesn’t select it.

That would suggest there’s an issue with the keyboard in the BIOS, try another

After nothing worked I tried ctrl+alt+delete and it detected it as an input.

So you can now select the menu? Then select enter BIOS and exit without saving settings

No I still can’t. This was after I tried selecting an option from the menu

So did it work with another keyboard?

Sorry, I think there's a bit of communication issue going on, it's very hard getting a line of action happening

Both my mouse and keyboard work. The issue is when trying to select an option, nothing happens. I’ve tried selecting all 3 options and nothing changes. I’m still stuck on that screen

Yes, as already said, try with another keyboard.

So I tried just now for the first time since I posted this earlier. The same keyboard now works when selecting options, I chose enter bios and then save and exit and now my system is working again.

Sorry for the poor communication I’m not really well versed in computers and such

If you're not really well versed in computers and such then this was a tad unwise....

Came up with a prompt saying something is still in the background but I hit restart anyways.

Unless you know exactly what is still running and you KNOW you can safely interrupt it then it's much wiser to wait and let the process complete.

So this just happened again. This time I didn’t press anything and just let it do its thing. It’s only happened twice and both times it’s been after downloading and installing windows updates.
