Bluetooth and Flight mode problem on Vortex IV in Win 8.1

After upgrading my Vortex IV to Win 8.1 I now cannot connect the Nokia BH-905i bluetooth headphones (they worked fine in Win 8). I've deleted the BT device in Device Manager and tried to reinstall it from the CD but the Bluetooth device is not recognised. After restarting Windows, the driver is installed again.

Also, in Device Manager I noticed Insyde Airplane Mode HID Mini-Driver has an exclamation mark explaining why the Airplane mode does not work with Fn+F11.

Can anyone confirm the same issues, and more importantly is there a fix?

Hi Gabor - this happened to me when I updated to Win 8.1.

I reinstalled the drivers from the Driver CD that came with my Vortex (deleting what was there first) and both the Airplane mode functionality and Device Manager are now back to normal.

Can't help with the Bluetooth I'm afraid as I went for the WiFi only card (N6300)

Same here Gabor! I was rather frightened at 1st with deleting & then installing, although I knew that was the correct way. Anyhow-inbetween the 'installing' a message popped up to say they were (I know they're not real peeps ha ha), that an install would take 1st. However, this doesn't always happen. My usb/optical/airplane is fine now + audio (but I think that occurred prior). My Bluetooth doesn't work..I hadn't tried it prior to the update (only had the machine 2 days). If you have an internal blue tooth, give it a try (but not tonight lol) . Please could you let us know how you got on with everything?

Reinstalling the Airplane driver from the CD worked fine. The Bluetooth (or the WLAN for that matter) installation from the CD won't start because the device is not recognised or not turned on according to the message box. I cannot see a way to turn the wifi/BT on/off in the BIOS so I suspect that we'll need a new driver for the Killer Wireless-N 1202 card on Win 8.1. The wifi part works so I leave that but the BT is not working...

PCSpecialist support people, if you read this is there something in the making?

Edit: there is a Killer driver which has Win 8.1 in its download file name! http://www.killergaming.com/support/driverdownloadsupport

Only other thing I can think to suggest is to double check that Airplane mode is off (as this will stop any networking) and try a scan for new hardware to see if that can pick up the BT device

That's great and glad you have the networking sorted now!

Thanks for posting the solution - I'm sure it will help others with similar issue.
