Hey, figure I'd post this on the forums see if anyone has any insights prior to me sending my keyboard back to PCS.
(Mods, I figured this was Tech Support but it may not belong here - please move as you see fit )
Had some issues with my Blackwidow Ultimate today.
The LED's on the keyboard are set to go off when the display goes into sleep mode. Usually that's fine and as soon as I press a key / move the mouse, both the display and the keyboard sprang back to life . However today that did not happen, the display switched back on, but the keyboard remained dark (but responsive).
I tried resetting my PC and unplugging the keyboard but that didn't fix the LED issue. I did notice they came on whilst Windows was booting but as soon as Windows was fully on the LED's would go out again and not switch back on.
Maybe a firmware issue? I tried to reinstall the firmware and drivers for the keyboard, it seemed to be going ok but once it was finished the keyboard switched itself off and would not switch back on again (this time none of the keys were working either...).
Tried to move it through several USB ports and noticed that whenever I moved it, the PC didn't make the "bong - you've just inserted a USB" noise. Very disconcerting. I've tried it in my laptop too (kinda hoping something would happen) but it will not switch on / be recognised.
Not sure what it could be... Will be requesting an RMA if I cant get it back on.
I have just been bigging up this keyboard to tom too...
