Bios version oddities?

Hi,

My Rog Strix X99 Bios is reporting itself as version 9901, yet the latest Asus release is 1401.

Do I assume this is a Bios that PCS has spun together? If so, is there any correlation between version numbers?

I also assume they do this to discourage people from updating them and screwing their systems (and losing their overclocks)?

I didn't think PCS had BIOSes for the desktops that were any different to the retail versions. Not sure why it's reporting itself as 9901, unless it means 0901.
