BIOS Updates

Hi. I have two PCS laptops (Recoil Series: 17.3" purchased in 2019, and Recoil Series: 17" purchased in 2024). I'm pretty sure the laptop I purchased in 2019 would have had some BIOS updates in this time, but I am unable to find anywhere to download any sort of BIOS update.
My PCS download valt hasn't been updated since the day I purchased the laptops, and only has the usual device driver downloads (all of which (for both laptops) are now out of date).
Both laptops are manufactured by TongFang, however thier website is just PR with no downloads or inforamtion about the laptops/computers they make.

Does anyone know where you can download legitimate BIOS updates for TongFang laptops.
It's a shame that PCS don't keep you up to date with driver and BIOS update files...

You’d need to contact PCS directly, they’re the only ones that can supply a BIOS update

That's a shame... I don't know why they just can't have a page where you search for your laptop model, and just download an update!

Because custom laptops aren’t the same as off the shelf, they’re much more low level command based updates, so you need guidance on how to do them.
BIOS should never be updated for the sake of it either as a failure can brick the motherboard, so PCS determine if the system requires one in the first place

As per the warranty, to retain warranty, any BIOS update must be done via PCS approval firstly. This is all clearly highlighted in the welcome guide

The point of updating the BIOS is two fold:
  1. Add compatibility with new CPUs coming onto the market - does not apply in laptops as the CPUs are soldered to the motherboard.
  2. Fix something that's broken - bug fixes. Unless a significant issue comes to light there's no need to fix what ain't broke.
The reason you see a lot of BIOS updates for Dell and HP laptops etc is that their QC is terrible.
