BIOS Update Help Required

Hi all,

I decided to upgrade my BIOS in order to improve the fans and RAM by downloading the file that came with my order.

Everything was going smoothly until I entered the command "MESET", which gave me the message "Bad command or file name". I'm not sure what to do at this point, so any immediate support would be greatly appreciated.

You need to contact PCs for guidance on updating the bios, I'd call them now before you do anything, they're open til 8

I am in the same position as you. I'll ring PC Specialist in the morning but Im wondering how you got around the missing meset file? also my instructions say after that to run 'flashme' but that file doesn't exist either.
It would be useful if there were instructions to get around this available on the forum.

The point is they don't want anyone doing a bios update, only under their instruction as it can brick the device if done incorrectly and should only be done under certain circumstances.

Why are you guys upgrading your BIOS? If everything is working normally there is no point. BIOS firmware is not like other software, the only time it ever needs updating is if you have a problem that is BIOS related or if the new BIOS contains a feature that you need. Otherwise leave it alone. The same goes for most drivers too.

I had spoken to PCS yesterday as I had repeated BSOD with windows 10 and this is a known issue with my spec of laptop and the BIOS update is therefore recommended in my case.
Just to give a conclusion to my problem:
I spoke to PCS this morning and they sent me the missing meset.exe file and told me to run the flash.bat file (as opposed to the missing flashme.bat file)
The BIOS is now upgraded.
