Bios Help

I would really appreciate any help.
I bought my pc 5 years ago and yesterday started getting a please enter setup to recover bios setting notice. I tried going into bios and leaving and everything was fine as normal. But today the same thing was happening.

Then I tried setting the SATA Configuration to RAID and changing it back and it still showned the same error and I noticed that the date and time were wrong.

The bootup now takes longer. I have no idea if its because of a windows update that happened as soon as this error started. My bios is also about 4 years out of date as well so I don't know if thats the issue now. The only other solution I found is to change the cmos battery but I can't do that myself and I don't know where to get help.

Any help would be very appreciated thank you.

Windows is installed on one of the 2 drives. I want to say the ssd 2TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2
You don't want to change the SATA mode, it needs to be on AHCI, not RAID

If the date and time are incorrect, it could be your CMOS battery is running flat

But if 24H2 has just installed, there have been a host of issues related to outdated BIOS, and yours is very old, I would update to the latest stable version personally.

It also looks like your RAM overclock isn't in place unless you ordered very slow RAM, hard to say without the full specs.

Could also be the SSD is failing, worth doing a SMART check next time you're in windows.

I update my bios to the most update one just earlier today now and I don't think it fixed anything but I'll know for sure tomorrow as the message pops up every couple of hours.

I don't know what 24H2 is? I may need to see about getting the CMO battery changed in a store hopefully.

I don't really need to overlock my ram personally unless its effecting the system? They are 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)

Yes, it's 3200MHz, but it's set at 2133MHz which is the board default. So you're missing out on substantial performance.

I don't know what 24H2 is?
Latest Windows version

Pointless taking it to a store, and risky too, takes 2 minutes to do yourself.

I have very bad luck with hardware so I'm not sure if I can take out the motherboard and plug it in again so sadly its my only choice at the moment.😅

Oh thank you I was terrified that the battery was somewhere hard to find since I couldn't see it when I looked and all the videos have the motherboard splayed on a desk. I'll look for a replacement battery and hope it works! Thank you again.

It's just a standard CR32 battery, can get them in your local supermarket, or anywhere like Amazon etc.

I changed the battery and it didn't work so I tried another one and it worked but the date was set to yesterday? Does it take a little while is retain the date?

You'll have to set the date yourself in the BIOS, the Windows date will update automatically once it connects to the internet.

You may also have to adjust some other BIOS settings which may have been reverted to default values...such as the RAM speed/profile.

Thank you!

what would I have to change the ram speed to?

3200MHz is what I believe you bought, so if your motherboard supports it then look for something like EXPO/DOCP/XMP in your BIOS RAM settings, probably under 'AI Tweaker' > 'AI Overclock Tuner' and choose the correct speed profile from there.

Specific instructions will be in the BIOS manual for your motherboard...

Thanks luckily I took a picture of those settings before changing the bios and I can change them
