Bigfoot Killer 1103. Dropped Connection

Got my laptop yesterday. Everything is perfect bar the fact that the wireless constantly drops. It will work fine for 20 minutes or so and then it will just have "limited access" and I am forced to disable/enable the card before it goes back to working.

Tried re-installing drivers, tried stopping it from 'saving power mode' , closing Bigfoots software etc.

It's very frustrating as I've don't have any issues with my other laptop dropping connection and I have never had to deal with a problem where I connect fine initially and then it stops working, usually when I have internet it either works fine, or doesn't work at all which so I am fairly stumped as to where to go from here.

Please help guys as it's very frustrating, it you need any more details please ask.

Experience the exact same problem and other laptops in the house the connection doesn't stop and it's wireless.

I ordered the killer gaming bluetooth for improved connection. I spoke to pc specialist and they say if it happens again, which strangely hasn't since I called, then try to troubleshoot it.

Are you saying it only happened once? Because it happens every 10 minutes or so for me, it even occurred while hit the save button on my last post.

Do they mean troubleshoot it through windows?

Hi to both of you.

Well you can try:

1. Make sure that the router you are connecting to is not busy i.e. busy downloading a large file etc from another computer connected - this could make your connection extremely slow and time out, thus making Windows think that you do not have a internet/LAN connection.
2. Although obvious, make sure that you are not too far from the router, as routers are renowned for changing internet speeds just by moving to a different room or having the antenna facing the wrong way.
3. Yes, try troubleshooting through windows, as it is able to apply various fixes it's self. To do this simply right click your Network Connection icon in the task bar on the desktop and select 'Troubleshoot problems'.
4. Again, for various hardware problems of PC's, updating the BIOS could possibly solve this issue if you have already tried uninstalling, restarting, and re-installing the latest driver for your wireless device.
To update the BIOS, find out what brand and model of Motherboard you have, and download it from the official website. Read the board manual on how to actually do it.

If all else fails, contact PCS!

Mine use to happen every 10-20 minutes and I'm more or less right next to the router/hub. But it's been quite steady today, only difference I can tell is the windows update that has been downloaded yesterday

Like I said fawk, it's been better for some reason since yesterday's window's update. I've been online for an hour without it cutting out when it usually goes every 10 minutes.

If it happens again, I'll try troubleshooting but touch wood it's resolved now.

When I spoke to PCS yesterday evening they said to try trouble shooting and if it doesn't they will work with you to sort it out. So if you tried the ts then give them a call and get them to go through remedying it with you.

If I know anything new I'll let you know of it.
