Exactly 200 years ago today (March 25th 1821) the uprising took place that would become the Greek War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire. March 25th has been the Greek National Day ever since. Today of course is the bicentennial of the start of the war and had it not been for COVID there would have been mass celebrations all across the country. Please join me in wishing Greece a happy independence day!
