Back up Win 7 'D' Drive

Been at this for several days now and failing.

I want to use a program on my old XP Machine to back up the 'D' Drive of my Win 7 machine.

Whatever I use READYNAS V2 or EASEUS TODO they both seem to want a password to access the drive. I have 'shared' the drive on the WIN 7 machine but cannot open the folders. EaseUS can see the drive but not open it.

I don't want to set up a user account just for this, but is there any other way, or am I missing something.

Confused

Windows 7/8 both have image software by default.

To find this "hidden" feature:

Control Panel > System and Security > File History. In here you will find a wealth of utilities to backup anything and everything. If you wish to make an Image, click on the "Windows 7 File Recovery" tag at the bottom of that window.

Not sure if it's what you're after, but I hope it helps ya.

I'll take a look. I already use the built in back up of Win 7 for the 'C' drive but wish to extend this to the 'D' drive.

Thanks for the response.

I know you can image any drives in the machine, but as for backing up, I use my own software.
