Azure Review

After a long wait I finally received my new Azure Build

after receiving the package - my first thoughts were....crap this is bigger than I thought! after I opened the box my fears were realised! ITS MASSIVE! and very heavy. It looks great tho

after removing all the packaging I expected the case, there were some marks on the white case which is disappointing however not deal breaking. I opened up the doors to remove the protective form inside and did some further inspections. All looks ok inside the main section, however the back panel was slightly wrapping. I opened this to discover one of the SSD trays was loose. This must have been the cause of the wrapping.

Also note I was given a Palit GTX 980 Ti rather than the Zodiac that was advertised ( I am not sure on the differences) as well as the Gigabyte motherboard

After setting the pc up I booted up for the first time

as previously mentioned the first boot takes longer as it is loading windows for the first time.

I updated drivers etc - one issue with the graphics drivers - I did have a funny screen after installing them and rebooting however this has not returned since so I assume it was just the initial setup.

one problem I have noticed is with the front fans. The bottom one is not spinning. I am assume they are both meant to be doing so all the time. So have contacted PCS regarding this. could this be a bios setting or a loose connection?

I have yet to put its through its paces graphically however data transfer speeds from my external USB 3.0 HHD were exceptional - when transferring large amounts of data It reached 110mb per sec which I have never seen before so happy with that!

boot up times from a cold boot is silly so fast! it is very quiet

So very pleased and look forward to putting it through its paces this weekend . just abit disappointed regarding the front fan but I am sure it is an easy fix

I shall pop some photos on later on too

Glad you got your comp now, The fan will probably come on next august when we get a summer ;), Meybe its the fan controller, what memory did they give you, can you use it as a dining table

As per the front fan, check the cabling, when my PC turned up years ago I took the side panel off and there was a cabled at the bottom for the fan on the side door that was disconnected so it did not rip off during transit with the packaging in.
Might be similar with you.

I have had a look and nothing obvious not connected it is connected to the fan itself (I can get there from the front dust panel) but I cant really get to the wires at the top of the case where they lead to - is it connected to the mobo or powersupply ?

will this be an issue only one front fan working?

I wouldn't overclock it or run it flat out until you get it fixed but that case is designed for multiple GPU so it should be fine.

Hi Velvet. Which Palit GPU have they fitted? Also be interested in clock speed of CPU, what have they managed to get it up to?

I will have a look when I get home at the cpu speed. It is the jetstream gpu

Would anyone be able to help with the fan issue? Any ideas where the cables would lead to

I can't seem to find where on the motherboard however lol I have found the back fan and the cpu fan however nothing is plugged into the other fan connections.

Well I guess there may be a few reasons why it isnt working, Might be that (potentially long) phone call to tech support on Monday then, to run through troubleshooting. I am sure it will be easy to sort though.

I expect they were nervous about even a tiny overclock given the instability issues there have been,

Regarding the non working fan, this from the review...

'The PC Specialist Azure is pre-installed with Windows 10 and has a few incompatibility issues. For instance, Corsair Link failed to detect the pump and dual 120mm fans; although this was resolved after a re-installation. I wouldn’t be too concerned though as Corsair should be working on a Windows 10 compliment version of the Hydro software and PC Specialist can’t be blamed for this as Windows 10 is still relatively new in the grand scheme of things.'

You might try reinstalling Corsair Link, though you'd think neither would be working or both if it was that.

thank you for this suggestion

I have noticed that on the devices under my gigabyte motherboard that it says there are only 2 connected fans which I assume are the front and the back one

a sense of achievement....I have fixed the fan issue

after locating the wires (in the right hand left corner of the rear panel) I had to wriggle my way thru the nice nest of cables that PCS had made for the cable management

found both ends and put them together - they must have missed that one!

I now have both front fans working

thank you for all those who helped
