Hi all, I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of this. Opinions? I cannot have a pc due to space, my home is a tiny house under 300sqft! so no room for a desk area at all. I do have a cooling plate if heating is a concern. Apologies if this is a duplicate post, I posted yesterday but cannot find my post anywhere! Browser is set to edge only because OperaGX was not an option. I plan to store all my games on the 4tb drive.

Hi, if you would like some feedback it would be helpful if you can post your specs in an easier to read format.
Best way to do that is to check your login to the main PCS website (its different to the forum account) and go into your orders and copy/paste the specs from there.

Considering and presuming that the system's main purpose is gaming, I'd go with the Recoil AMD, because the 9955HX3D would improve gaming performance with the 3D V-Cache.

Furthermore, the Recoil AMD will have a liquid cooler available (+£131), which is required to avoid thermal throttling.

Hi, thanks for your input. The 18" recoil does not have the option for the AMD CPU (hope i got that right I'm sort of learning as I go!). I do have a Llano cooling pad with a turbo fan, which I had hoped would avoid thermal throttling? again apologies if i have the terminology wrong still learning at 53 lol.

The 18" chassis is from a different manufacturer (Clevo), and there is currently no AMD choice.
I don't believe any cooling stand can avoid thermal throttling on new laptops/DTRs; it's an outdated technology that's essentially worthless.

Unless Clevo's PLs are reduced, it will experience thermal throttling without an appropriate cooling solution.

I honestly have no idea why the 18" Recoil doesn't come with the cooler option...frankly, all Recoils should come with a mandatory cooler, especially at the top end of specs

Probably because Clevo manufactures the Recoil 18'' whereas TongFang manufactures the 16'' model.
The latter manufacturer has always prioritised maximum performance above build quality (though this was mostly in the past), whereas Clevo has the opposite policy: build quality over maximum performance.

I can't think of another reason why the 18' chassis doesn't have an external cooler.
