SSD's can fail as well,S.M.A.R.T should be even more useful for SSDs as it will be more accurate/consistent in warning you about a drive failure before it happens.
HDD's or SSD's can last for days weeks,months or years,
there's no telling.
I'm not saying your drive is going to die any time soon,
but S.M.A.R.T warnings shouldn't be ignored,keep an eye on it.
I'll phone PCS in the morning and see what they say.. I'm hoping if it is the drive they'll just send me a replacement, rather than sending the whole machine down, as that adds to the risk of something getting damaged
It might be the Intel Raid software miss reporting. Until I updated it, both my optical drives were coming up as a basic CD Rom even though one is a DVD writer and the other is a Blu-Ray drive, so not entirely convinced it isn't a false positive since its working ok
