Asus Xonar DS

I'll do this over two posts, for uploaded pictures.

Seems I can't get the card to work unfortunately. I opened the case and noticed that there are some pins where something can be plugged in, I'm not sure if there's something missing that is meant to be connected there:

though since I couldn't get any sound, I tried putting the driver disc in before opening the case and got this:

I went on to open it and make sure it was properly seated, as far as I can tell it wasn't loose or anything. After closing the case again I checked the device manager and noticed the card doesn't seem to be listed, though Realtek and the GPU sound are:

I've not really got a clue what is/could be wrong, but in control panel it is showing the Xonar DS audio center, which does nothing on being clicked:

Have you connected a power cable from the PSU to the soundcard, you may need a floppy (aka, berg or Mini-Molex connector)to molex connector,an adaptor should be supplied with the sound card or there might be one in your welcome pack.

IF PCS installed the card then the power cable should already be connected,if you installed it yourself pretty sure most asus xonar sound cards need to be connected to the PSU via a 4 pin molex connector.

It was done by PCS, not been near it myself until today when I tried to get it to work. :/

Hi mate, I just installed my D2X yesterday. If they're similar, you will need to connect it via a Molex adaptor. It's a 'Molex to floppy' cable I think it's called - I found a spare in my welcome pack from PCS. Also the empty port in your picture is the port you use to connect the midi adaptor, I believe. The three pins to the right is where you would connect the power, I think....

Also the cable that is already connected is the one which joins your front panel port I reckon. Might be wrong though.

Not had the chance to get in touch yet, unfortunately. By time I'm free to do anything past few days it's beyond their call times. Going to send an Email to at least get the ball rolling.

I wouldn't suggest plugging a power cable into the AUX in port as shown on your picture asus-xonar-ds1b.jpg

You should now have a reply to your email Ste :) and a voice mail

It's no problem. :p

I've not replied yet as I'm not quite sure when is best for now, so I'll get to it as soon as. Just wondering, is there anything I need to get/do with it? Such as any kind of specific packaging, or anything else at all that may be required? I'm not too sure since being put in already on being built, I don't have a box or anything of the like of which it may have came in if I bought the card separately. (I'm sure it's easy to tell I'm a stranger to sending deliveries, rather than the other way around :D)
