Not at all, more suited to the 3070.

For a 3080 you’re looking at Superwide or 4k 144hz

Just drop down to a 3070 for that screen if you're budget doesn't stretch, the 3080 is pointless for 1440p.

3070 will get built a lot quicker as well, around 20 days rather than around 100
