When my new pc arrived, it wasn't set up as I thought it would be. Is this normal?

I had stated google chrome as the browser which it wasn't!
And I had to activate my copy of windows. I thought that was done by them, but maybe that one is done by the end user?

Actually, Chrome is crap and should never be used if security is important to you. Any Firefox-based browser is far better, IMHO.

And I had to activate my copy of windows. I thought that was done by them, but maybe that one is done by the end user?

In theory, the license should activate automatically when you first connect to the internet as the key is included in the BIOS; I prefer to use a Microsoft account because the license will be linked to your account and may be transferred to another PC in the future if necessary.
