Ark: Survival of the Fittest

So the Dev's of Ark: Survival Evolved have decided to release the Battle Royale type mod as a standalone game.

It's pretty well fully optimised, and FREE. That's right Free to play forever, there are fancy skins involved and they're free too.

I've been playing the full game of Ark for a while now, so glad they've done this to open the game into a wider audience.

Yeah, i saw this get released last night, then watched a couple of You Tubers play the first match, i tell you what that Ralph (Pedrosantana) is cracking at PVP.

I have played some of the SOTF already online, but i suck as my FPS is so low on my current laptop, i struggle hitting anyone!! (New laptop should be here next week).

My only critism is that they have left some of the events in that just make the game difficult to play, ARKtic Monkeys, Acid Rain, as this verison only has a 35min match time, you are constantly trying to fight off poop throwing monkeys, i think it kind of takes the fun out of it lol.

What i do think though, with that timer being so low and the border moving so quickly, it does relay heavily upon peoples ability to use a bow and arrow rather than taming a Rex and watch it wreck everyones face

Just my 2p worth.

If you fancy a new server by the way my friend has just got a new one up and running, its PVPVE.

Yeah, I watched Ralph on Twitch during the tourneys last night, he's pretty damn OP.

I believe the servers will be set to different game lengths so you can choose the long play options, I think the as a minimum the 6 Man Tribe servers are 90 minute games etc. The solo play 35min FFA are the quick fix of mindless violence (Ideal for Twitch/Youtube etc etc) 2-3 hour matches are fun to play ( I love the long form of the game) but that doesn't translate well into views/follows and subscribers etc which is where the free publicity for Ark is at.

Overall, I think Wildcard have set the bar in terms of Early Access games.

I only really play PvE servers now, I get my PvP fix in SotF

I agree, Wildcard have a made a brilliant game and its the whole reason i have got back into gaming
